Indigenous Peoples of the Americas Parade
12pm – Indigenous Ceremony with Songs and Prayers. Brooklyn Bridge Park Lawn, Brooklyn, NY (by Jane's Carousel). Opening prayers, land acknowledgement. songs, dances and words of wisdom by representatives of All Nations.
1pm - The Hoskie and Nesbah Walk of Honor. Brooklyn Bridge Entrance, Brooklyn, NY. We walk the Brooklyn Bridge (from Brooklyn to Manhattan) in memory of Missing, Murdered and Stolen Native American Women, Relatives and Children who lost their lives prematurely. We will commence the walk from the Brooklyn Bridge Park Lawn.
After the Hoskie & Nesbah Walk Of Honor - we will be uniting with the Indigenous Peoples of the Amercas Parade to walk together in celebration of Unity, Resilience, Traditions and Survivance of the Indigenous Nations. Among Attending: Representatives and allies of the Turtle Island United coalition, Ramapo Lenape Nation, Antinanco, PAZA, Tree of Life, K’eh Native Action, Forgotten People - Dine’ Be’ Iina’ na’ hil naa, Accomplis, Embrace Life Community, Sacred Mountains Sundance Community, Sinmuy Amungem - For the People Campaign, Touch Mother Earth Non-profit, American Indian Movement, Rise Up for Peltier Coalition, Joyful Life Services and numerous individual supporters.
Details: The participants will be wearing regalia and ancestors’ clothes, red and orange tee-shirts and sweaters commemorating MMIW, and will be accompanied by a drumming group, friends and supporters with banners and signs.
