Nature Spirit Library Campaign Launch!

Greetings, Friends!

This morning, our coalition (Antinanco Earth Arts, Be Light Living and KidBILT) launched the Nature Spirit Library Campaign to raise $7,000 to install wooden library houses in the parks of Holmdel and Jersey City.

Our vision is to encourage children and families to take their learning and reading beyond classroom walls. Due to the impact of technology on kids's quality of language and communications, we are determined to bring More Books, More Nature, and More Community Building into their lives.

We will build the libraries with reclaimed wood and upcycled materials, and will invite children and families to come out and assist us with building, installing and decorating the library houses with their favorite characters and motives. The libraries will include play elements, messages from the tree spirits, and periodic storytelling circles by community volunteers. The libraries will be set up as hubs for children to come together, read, play, connect. They will be free and open to the public at all times.

We would like to hear your thoughts, ideas and suggestions about the project, and would like to ask you to share it with your friends. If you know of any communities in need of a community reading and playing hub, we are taking the requests for our phase 2 building, so please do let us know. We will also be grateful for any support, which can be made through our Fundraiser Page. Every dollar donated to this project will go back to the community (Sponsorship Packages are also available).

Thank you and Blessings! Olga C, Dina and Olga S, Nature Spirit Library Team
